Happy New Year Everyone!!! I apologize for my lack of existence lately but this past month has been a rough one for me; too much work and not enough me time.
I am back though with a vengeance. Today is my last day at the office for a while as tomorrow is my surgery. I can't wait for the time off and to finally start to heal this freakin' foot of mine.
I watched the Biggest Loser Couples last night, not something I usually watch but the couples factor intrigued me. It was interesting to see friends, father/mother and daughter/son teams, ex-spouses, and one random set up. It is really inspiring to watch but to also see these people with some of the people who enable them to work together for a common goal, and not an easy one at that. Imagine losing 20 pounds in one week? Seems unreal right? It is and it isn't. For the normal person watching what they eat it is, but for someone engrossed in the campus they are in, eating well and exercising all the time it isn't far from normal. Not totally healthy because that environment is not the real world. As a matter of fact the first team to get kicked off, the daughter of the father/daughter team said it took her two weeks to come back into the "real" world and apply what she learned on the show to what was actually happening in day to day life.
There you have it, losing weight is not an easy task. It is something you need to focus on every day, one minute at a time. Don't get angry when you slip up, have a plan to get back on track. Congratulate yourself on your accomplishments and realize your age and realize how long it took you to put on the weight, it won't come off over night.
To everyone have a happy and healthy new year. Let's take it one minute at a time!
~xoxo
