Jimmy Choos???

My sister believes the end of August/beginning of September will find me getting surgery on my ankle which means still no cute shoes however when I can wear two normal shoes again... this is what I want!!!

To go older or not?

My friend puppy aka Mr. Atlanta will kill me when he reads this because he is sooo against the online thing, and I can't blame him it does suck on occassion but sometimes can be fun. What he will hate about this post is that I am thinking about Mr. Pittsfield again (another onliner). He has popped back into my email life. He is 46, an engineer, owns three nice cars, a house, is established but my one downfall - he is 46 and single. It isn't even so much the age, or maybe is it??? I never met him before, why contemplate it again except it has been a little lonely for me lately. The pup has been busy and John has been working on getting his next CD out. However he has a CD release party in Sept. in Lenox and his brother, illusionist Nick Felix, has a private show this weekend in the Lenox area so I am going up for the show. After that, who knows.

But back to Mr. Pittsfeild, is 20 years really a big deal in age? Would you do it??? Steve was 12 years older... That was never serious but certainly fun. :-)

Do you “Rock the boat?”

My friend G asked me today, “am I wrong for thinking this way?” I said “no, most definitely not.” Lets take a step back. G and I work together, different departments, same place. I recently lost my boss to her contract not being renewed. Now I answer to my coworker as she is the only other one left. Love how I have been here longer… Regardless, I try and move on. G is getting into a similar situation. Her two bosses left on their own because frankly, we ask too much of people, and now she has a new boss with no experience in her field. Can we say old boy’s club?? Anyway, this happens and I won’t knock it because it certainly has helped me. However, I do dislike the fact she has been excluded from meetings about restructuring her department and everyone on her team is there but her. Wrong, right? Either include everyone or don’t say a darn thing!!!! She vents to some close people who say “no matter what you say to them, it won’t change it, bide your time, ride it out.” OK, first off those people need to get a life! Don’t ride it out… start looking elsewhere. Being disrespected to your face is wrong! Second, these people telling her have been here forever, are connected and make more money than she does. Is it wrong, she wants more money for a job well done, and not saying that ‘cause she is my friend, and a little respect?? So I am not surprised when she told them “I don’t care that you don’t feel confident enough to rock the boat, but I do.” So I ask if we don’t metaphorically rock the boat, will change ever occur in a place that so desperately needs it???

What a day!

Today was interesting. We won't even touch on the work subject although I have a new prospect brewing and it could be a great thing for me!!! Moving on from that I had a PT appointment this evening and on my way home I saw this cute guy who happened to see me and pull out behind me. He followed me and at a light he pulled up next to me and starting chatting. Weird...yeah I thought so too. Anyway he seemed ok but I conitnued on my way to Starbucks for an evening Venti Iced Green tea and in he walks. Ok, he was cute too and drives a nice car. We talked a little more, he walked me to my car and magically he has my number and I have a drink date! Score, cast and all! Oddly enough I got a lot of head turns from guys on my way home and I promise, the car has no major bumps, dents, anything leaking, etc.

Hey with my unfortunate slump lately due to my foot, I'll take it! :-)

Babies

I was just told by someone I would make a great mother and that put a huge smile on my face. Not that I am looking to be a mother soon but when someone compliments you in that way, it makes a gal feel good. I give this girl credit. She is 25, got pregnant by her boyfriend now engaged to him and looking to wed him in October but to top it all off, her family is in Jersey. I would say this is one of the biggest moments of a girl's life and her family, let alone mom, isn't close by. Ok that and she gave me a great compliment. Seriously though she is cute. She thought I had children at first because of the "mothering" qualities about me but I said no, not yet. She asked how I have the knowledge I have and I shared with her I went through it with my best friend Amy when she had her son Aidan. She was a single mom, family in tow and supportive, but I became the surreogate mom. Went for hospital visits, was there when the baby was born, etc. Plus they say sometimes some women are naturals, I guess that means enter me!

Just because I live babies and am knowledgable doesn't mean I am ready though. I oddly enough still like being single and going out and having fun, sometimes too much fun but hey... no public pictures floating around of me on a bull (at least I haven't seen them)! When the time is right, it will be right and I will leave it in the hands of a higher authority to decipher that one for me. In the meantime I need another maragarita!!!! :-)

A little freedom goes a long way

I am getting back slowly to driving. I can't drive far but back and forth to work, PT, and able to run some errands. I feel it when I overdue it, sad to say. Regardless my streak of minor depression is coming to a close. I am an active person, not just physically at the gym but all around, I never sit which I blame on my ADD. You know when I sit for long it is because I don't feel well but this time it was worse. Thanks to all my friends and family who helped get me out and tried to cheer me up, sadly it took more than that. It took being able to drive again to put any kind of smile on my face.

The Trapeze Dress

I went for a ride today and went to Old Navy and Macy's. Paid a bill at the latter and shopped at Old Navy. In there I bought a Trapeze dress. I have seen them and heard about them, the latest fashion craze. I didn't try it on, just bought it figuring I could return it if necessary. Oh will I be returning it. I not only look preggo in the dress but I look HUGE!!! So not a good dress for me. I think I could fit about three people in there with me!

"The Puppy" aka Mr. Atlanta

Let me tell you about my favorite person in the world. I am not sure why he is my favorite at all, he just is. Let's go back to May 2002 when I started my first job. In I walk through the front door one my first day and I see this amazingly, good looking guy. I was like, "wow, I like this place already." One month later I finally see him again, this time he is at my department's company pinic. Hmmm, why? I find out he is the Audio Visual support and there I go and introduce myself. Oh, he is cute but he also seems like the typical, cocky guy. You know who I mean, the "oh, I know I am good looking." I didn't stay long because I actually had a blind date that night.

Back to "the puppy." My friend Jo saw us one day in the hall talking and she filled me in on the scoop when I got back to my desk. He was younger than me, loved the ladies and yes was good looking... and since she knew him and his family she felt ok in naming him "the puppy." Meaning cute and good looking but needed some loyalty training. Enter me... I guess. I am not sure I ever wanted to train him and still don't but oh yeah I wanted to get to know him. Over the time I was there we became friends, hung out, drank, talked, got fairly close but yes, he is not loyal even as a friend. I couldn't depend on him to call back, follow through on plans, etc. I became to get this and be ok with it. After all, I liked him. If we didn't date I still enjoyed his company so I move on but keep close ties and I did just that.

Over time we went without talking but we always stayed in touch and 5+ years later, we still do. He hasn't changed too much in my book. Dating someone but I would imagine he still hooks up with some random people along the way, and yes you can include me in there. I am not random but the chemistry between us is explosive. In many ways we get and understand each other. No I didn't decorate his new condo, but after his ex ripped through it in a rage of some state, I did purchase some new vases and a blanket or two becuase he was a friend and I firmly believe he didn't deserve what she did, no matter how he can be.

Oh, did I mention I ran him over about 4 years ago too with my car. More of a mishap than intentional but it happened and yes, we still are close. As, for naming him Mr. Atlanta, I ran into him in the Atlanta airport on a layover the day after Valentine's Day. I was supposed to fly down to Florida for a vacation on Valentine's Day but snow cancelled the flight and while I was waiting in Atl, I turn around and see puppy - fate, maybe a belated V-day gift for me??? All I know is I had bronchitis and my ears were blocked and I was stuffy so I couldn't hear well and I am sure I looked crappy.

Why is he my favorite you ask? Not sure, but I do know regarldess the conversation and the wine bills are endless and always leave me wanting more!

This blog

I am not so worried about people at work reading this because I didn't tell too many people, but the members from my gym maybe a little. I did this because of them but at the same time I am being a little vulnerable in my posts and sharing some personal things... I hope they don't mind. I guess if they stop coming to Spinning I will know why! And for the guys...don't worry I want to into major details on any female issues or something because it general that is too personal and not needed, ok? :-)

Men...

It is sad to say but I have not kissed a guy in months!!! Well the little peck on the cheek with coffee date boy doesn't truly count. Lets see the last kiss was... right before Memorial Day... yeah that sounds about right. Wow, talk about boring! Then again when you are in a cast and can't drive... life does get boring. So how do I plan on fixing this men/kissing issue you ask. Not sure, I did stop my Match.com account and still don't get out too much so maybe I take a hiatus and strategize my next move.

Options - find a new job where there are single men, Match.com or another dating website, let everyone know I am looking, hang out at happy hours on Thursdays and Fridays at Uno's or Max's Tavern, go grocery shopping more and hope to "bump" into someone, see one driving and accidentally hit his car (nah, too much damage), I don't know yet...any thoughts?

The dreaded ankle

Quick update on the ankle. Not better, still in that awful boot but have a new brace so I can start driving as it feels comfortable. So what does this mean... I need to lug the big boot with me everywhere as I need to switch between the two! Have to go to PT for a few weeks, get a CAT scan and go see the surgeon in August. That said, can't teach Group Power yet but can hopefully get back to spinning after some PT. Progress you may ask... yes and no!

Paris, Posh, celebs, celebs, celebs...

So I know I am a little crazy and a little celeb crazed. Hey why not?? Of course, we all have our issues, be it family, friends, media, work - whether it is you or me or Paris and Jennifer we all have our own issues we must get through. But today I decided to write about.

Paris, Paris, Paris... she is everywhere and today I heard - "did she really have special treatment in prison?" OK, come on I like Paris like anyone else but for a couple days she seemed to lay below the radar but today it was all about Paris. Let her live and have fun!!!

Now onto the next American media craze... Posh Spice aka Victoria Beckham. Alright, so my fascination with her... I was in high school for the spice girls so hello, of course I was in that craze. I kissed my favorite New York boy at the Cape listening to the Spice Girls. It was at a mini golf/ice cream stop in the West Yarmouth area. Oh what fun. Anyway back to Posh, next her husband is a cutie. So you get wrapped in in the TV shows and the magazines and, I admit I do. I have watched her TV interviews as of late but tonight I watched her special "Coming to America" and I really like her. Sure she hammed up some of the show but she is funny, down to earth and seems genuine. She doesn't seem like the mean girl she is portrayed as. She has to have some sort of rugged exterior to deal with the paparazzi... anyone would. I found myself having a new appreciation for miss Posh after her show and I just might check out the Spice Girls reunion when it comes around...

Luv ya! :-)

Working Out

Still waiting on the doctors appt. this week for a check up on my ankle, but in the meantime I still read EVERYTHING I can about working out, etc. to better me and to better me as a teacher. The latest - The Martini Workout. Check out this link .

I saw an article in Boston.com about this. It is an intensive core/ab workout where yes, you can actually use a plastic martini glass on your abs to get the correct position of your body for the absolute best core/ab workout. After, yep you guessed it... a trip to the local bar for a martini.

So should I ask my gym to try something similar??? We have a restaurant/bar right out front. Or maybe for us Starbucks lovers, we can try The Espresso Workout!

Work

Let me ask this question... do you ever have a day when you actually cry at your desk? Today I did. OK, I could have gone all out and made a scene and really cry, but the tears came rolling down and I couldn't hide them all. I have been frustrated with my work situation lately (boss is fired, her boss won't speak to me, craziness) and my outlets of the gym or driving aren't possible anymore with my ankle... so everything has been building. Yesterday it really hit and I pushed it aside and today - wow...someone said hey, you need to do this and I did it but wow, after watch out!!! It got so bad I finally had to get up and leave the building to breathe!!! I walked almost a mile on crutches to get a sandwich. I didn't need a sandwich, I had one in the fridge but I needed to get out. It was a nice walk but tiring. ;-)

So how do you deal with the bad days at work??? Margaritas anyone???!!! :-)

My latest obsessions

OK, so call me 13 but I am loving the summer shows "Don't forget the Lyrics" and "So you think you can dance." Hey, what do you want when you brake your ankle and can't drive. The couch, TV and computer become viable options!!!

The latter I started watching last summer and got soo addicted. I love watching these kids dance and work together, the music. I even got dad addicted. As for Lyrics, it just started last night but I love it and Wayne Brady. The girl they had on was soo cute and soo funny. She won $350,000 just knowing lyrics to music. If it was so easy right??!!! Funny because she said she only has $20 in her bank... I remember those days but I never got that break.

I have one friend who might be able to master the Lyrics show. Well some lyrics I guess, but his name is Mr. Atlanta, AKA "puppy," to those who know his code name. He is great with music and I always enjoy watching him sing karaoke.

Ok, my last word of the night... is it wrong to be drinking a margarita on a work night, watching So you think... and blogging???? Nah!! ;-)

First Day

Hi All!

So this is my first entry after many weeks and months contemplating this. My clients/friends at the gym will tell you they have been waiting for this for soooo long. They come to my Spin classes just to hear what is new in my love life.

So what is new... not much. I hurt my ankle back in May and was put in a cast in June. You gotta know it is my right foot and I can't drive, so my social life... LACKING!!! I have been a big crank lately according to my friend G. I did however finally have my coffee date with coffee date/Rutland/trainer guy. Yes, you will start to know the guys I see/date by categories. Anyway after almost 1 month of trying to get together and then the cast thing, he drove down and picked me up. We spent two hours at Starbucks in EL and had a blast. But I heard from him via email and a few text messages saying "I had fun and would love to see you again" and nothing. So who knows...

My pet peeve at the moment...work. Do you ever feel that you are lucky to be in a situation where people share with you the latest and greatest and you too are in the know? Then suddenly people change and you aren't in the know anymore even about what you are to do day to day??? Yes, that is my right now. Whomever was the person who said a corporation is political never worked in education. OMG!!! And I can play the game pretty well too.

Back to this dating thing. I was on Match.com for almost a year and went on a few dates and talked to a few guys but nothing really materialized. I went on a blind date from friends and that lasted about two months but something about a 30 yr. old who lives at home and is in no rush to move out .... hmmm. OK, so I am 26 and living at home but I made some financial mistakes (my closet was nicely stocked and my stomach always had good food in it) and am getting back on track. Plus, I don't know where I want to settle for the next few years, here or another part of MA or another state all together, so why bother investing in a crappy market right now.
